Tribute to Pierre Binétruy

A conference and a film

On May 3rd and 4th 2018, a scientific conference was held at Paris Diderot University in tribute to Pierre Binétruy, for his numerous contributions to particle physics, supersymmetry, cosmology and gravitation but also his talent to lead the French and internationnal physics community and to outreach through his online courses.

The documentary “Intrikation” was presented to the audience at the end of those two days. You can now watch the full movie on the PCCP Youtube channel (English subtitling available):

Gravity! The Quest for Gravitational Waves – Pierre Binétruy

International day of women and girls in science

A “Physics” masterclass is organized as part of the UNESCO “International day of women and girls in science” at the Astroparticle and Cosmology Laboratory of University Paris Diderot.

This free day (Friday, February 10th) intended for high school girls, will allow them to discover the laboratory, exchange with astrophysicists and participate in data analysis exercises.

All registration and program information can be found on the APC website.

Talking gravitational waves at the Forum organized by Le Monde

Pierre Binétruy participes to the 8th edition of the Forum Science Research and Society (in French) organised by Le Monde and  La Recherche magazine, which will take place on May 25,  2016 at Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (famous for its Foucault pendulum) in Paris, 292 rue Saint-Martin. Together with Nicolas Arnaud, researcher at Laboratoire de l’Accélérateur Linéaire and member of the Virgo collaboration, he will answer the questions of David Larousserie, journalist at Le Monde, from 5pm to 6pm.

This Saturday 19 March from 3pm to 4pm, Pierre Binétruy gives  a presentation at Livre Paris, the book fair that takes places at Porte de Versailles. The presentation is part of the programme “Rencontres de Sciences pour tous” which is held at booth P12 and the title of the conference (in French) is: In pursuit of gravitational waves.
